A resident of South Florida since 1986, Dr. Ratnoff received a degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University in 1976, then continued to fulfill his dream of helping animals by earning his DVM degree from Araneta University in 1981. Dr. Ratnoff has traveled through Asia and Europe to continue his studies in veterinary medicine. Currently, he goes to continuing education studies and seminars across the US every year. These studies include Exotic Animal Care, Ultrasound, Laser Surgery, Laser Therapy, and Digital Telemedicine. Some awards Dr. Ratnoff was privileged to get include American Top Veterinarian in Emergency and Exotic Medicine in 2006 and Who’s Who in 2007-2008. Dr. Ratnoff is an outstanding AVMA, BVMA, FVMA, and VECCS member. He lives in Pompano Beach with his wife Laurie, who shares his love of veterinary medicine as a Veterinary Technician. They have pets of many kinds, from a Miniature Poodle, 2 Dachshunds, 3 Papillons, to multiple rescues like a Pit Bull, a German Shepherd, rescued cats, hamsters, a Parakeet, a Love Bird, a Macaw, and reptiles like Bearded Dragons. It is not unheard of for him to foster or rehab rescues at the practice or at his home—which is referred to as Spencer and Laurie’s version of Noah’s Ark.
